Phase 03

Detailed Design

Architectural, electrical and mechanical drawings finalised; network, cabling and security systems designed; sustainability integrated end-to-end.

Deliverables: Full design documentation · technical specifications.

Phase 04

Design Review & Validation

Peer and compliance reviews, CFD and load simulations, and validation against ASHRAE, ISO and Uptime Institute standards.

Deliverables: Design validation report · compliance certificates.

Data Center for AI

Infrastructure built for HPC and AI workloads.

DEEP DIVE WITH CORNING · GLASSWORKS AI

AI and HPC are reshaping data center requirements — driving bandwidth, latency and density to new ceilings. We design facilities ready for 800G Ethernet and InfiniBand today, and 1.6T tomorrow.

  • NVIDIA 800G InfiniBand & Spectrum-X Ethernet architectures
  • Modular structured cabling for high-density fiber (MPO/MTP)
  • OM4 / OM5 and single-mode fiber selection for signal integrity
  • Roadmap to 1.6T Ethernet and AI-driven network management

Design in practice

From design intent to delivered facility.

Every Commwork ICT design begins with a detailed floor plan and evolves through BIM coordination, MEP integration and on-site commissioning. We use CAD and BIM tools — AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks — alongside DCIM platforms such as Schneider EcoStruxure, Nlyte and Sunbird to plan, monitor and manage every asset.

For thermal performance we rely on CFD simulation (6SigmaDCX, ANSYS Fluent, TileFlow), and for electrical design we work with ETAP, EPLAN Electric P8 and PowerCAD to deliver redundancy and efficiency by design.

Environmental Monitoring & DCIM

Reliable. Efficient. Intelligent.

01
Environmental Monitoring
Real-time tracking of temperature, humidity, power and critical infrastructure conditions across the facility.
02
DCIM Integration
Centralised management of IT and facility assets, capacity planning and performance analytics.
03
Alarm & Event Management
Automated alerts and escalation workflows for proactive, low-MTTR maintenance.
04
Energy Optimisation
Continuous analysis of power usage to reduce operational costs and carbon footprint.
05
Scalable Architecture
Modular design adaptable to data centers of any size or complexity.
06
Integration Expertise
Seamless connection with BMS, SCADA and other infrastructure systems.
Standards

We design to the standards that matter.

Every Commwork ICT data center is engineered against the frameworks that define availability, safety and efficiency.

Uptime Institute
Tier Standards (I–IV)

Defines levels of redundancy and fault tolerance, from basic capacity to fully fault-tolerant facilities.

ANSI / TIA-942
Telecom Infrastructure

Comprehensive standard covering site layout, cabling, network topology, power, cooling and security.

ISO / IEC 22237
International Standard

Global standard harmonising data center construction, power supply, environmental control and security.

ASHRAE TC 9.9
Thermal Guidelines

Defines environmental conditions for IT equipment — temperature, humidity and airflow management.

NFPA 75 & 76
Fire Protection

Fire detection, suppression systems and emergency procedures for IT and telecom facilities.

BICSI 002
Best Practices

Practical design guidance for site selection, architecture, electrical, mechanical and IT systems.

Construction & commissioning

From procurement to performance handover.

01

Procurement & Construction

Vendor selection, contractor management, quality control and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).

02

Commissioning

Integrated Systems Testing (IST), operations training, and full system handover to your team.

03

Post-Occupancy

Performance monitoring, energy efficiency tuning and scalability planning for future expansion.
